Breaking Fast, Karpathian Style

As more and more of us are arriving to our favorite destination – that being, our lovely Karpathos, of course; it it has become extremely noticeable, that a few breakfast places are still considered island favorites by the majority of the Karpathian population. We would like to list some of them as well as our own favorite places for a go-to or sit-down breakfast, in Pigadia.

The first and somewhat newly renovated Supermarket Kritikos not only has anything you could possible need in terms of groceries, but also has a fantastic bakery for a quick breakfast grab! We love getting the classic φραππέ and τυρόπιτα, it’s delicious, and very convenient, if you’re looking to do some errands and don’t have time to sit at a coffee shop right away, that’s top on our list, so make sure to check it out.

If you do have time to sit, Karpatho has many coffee shops / καφετέρειες. Nuevo is definetely a favorite with some great choices! Eggs, pancakes, bagels with cream cheese, you name it! Just get in Pigadia early, because otherwise, finding a seat will be tough! It’s that good! La Corte is also very good, and convenient, being that it is located by the συντριβάνι, where most shops are located! We love the Freddo Cappuccino there and the delicious eggs or cheese sandwich (τόστ) ! Both places have WiFi available for customers, and a great ocean view!
