Καλή Σαρακοστή! Who else is excited for Easter this year? Time flies when you’re having fun and this year flew! Right now we are in the period of fasting for lent, so eating seafood, σπανακόπιτα, τυρόπιτα, (meatless) ντολμάδες, tzatziki, and cold pasta salad, is the norm. It is a great time to collect our thoughts and fast in our own way as we get ready for Πάσχα (Greek Easter). Time to also dust out, our old recipe books if we must, as we prepare to make the Βυζάντι, (traditional lamb dish) red eggs , cookies and τσουρέκι! But if you’re hosting Πάσχα in your home, you must have begun to think about bringing out the spring collection of wreaths and candy jars you own. If you are shopping this holiday season, in a chance to revamp your home’s Easter vibe this year, there are many different styles to choose from. The olive branch and palm leaves are super POPULAR ! You can also combine that with pastel colors and voila; a modern Karpathian Easter! You can also throw in a few sugar cookies from your local bakery to add a modern twist. The ”He is risen” + Cross sugar cookies are our faves! They taste good, and go great with your coffee at the end of the meal! So, feel free to grab some inspo from this post and slowly start to prepare for Greek Easter!
